The contaminated water flows through the cartridge towards its core. The sediment in it is retained by micropores whose diameter decreases towards the core. Large particles are captured near the surface, while small particles are captured in the deeper layers.
This increases the effective surface area, filtration efficiency and life of the cartridge.
The bactericidal substance contained in the cartridges acts on the cell wall – the main element that distinguishes a bacterial cell from a human cell. It causes morphological changes leading to the disruption of its structural integrity (lysis) and, as a result, eliminates bacteria or prevents their multiplication. Its selective action makes it completely safe for human use.
